MBNA Switch from Mastercard to Visa

I've had two MBNA credit cards for over 20 years. One Visa, the other MasterCard. I'll now have two MBNA Visa cards. I can't see the point in them changing. Why didn't they just drop the MC and migrate it to the Visa one?

Same for me, had it for fifteen years, it has always been Visa.

Has anyone received their new Visa MBNA and had a year validity date on it? I'm not sure if it's because of my credit score but I've had the card over 10 years and a £10k limit but instead of usual 3-5 years it's only valid til June 2027. Wondering if it's some internal review.

Could the date simply be the same as the expiry date of your old one?

I like to check the last 4 digits of my card to make sure I'm paying the correct bank in Internet banking - but they have already issued new account numbers before I have got my new card.

Same with Halifax Clarity.

I guess one will disappear - no real balance on either

I had an e-mail to say my Hfx Visa card is on its way so I checked in my on line account and the new number is there with the same expiry date as the old MC. It also has the same PIN as the old card.
