Miskey for hospital parking
Parking at UHCW in Coventry. Driver was there as a professional, not as a patient, if that makes any difference.
Postal parking charge from CPP for a minor miskey changing one letter to a number due to the sun shining on the screen and it being hard to see. (Driver used a 6 instead of a Y which are above each other on the keyboard)
Date of alleged contravention: 16.4.26
Date of issue - 20.4.26.
They are asking for the usual £100 reduced to £60 if paid within 2 weeks, although there is clearly a small error - instead of AB12CDE driver put in AB126DE which is clearly not right.
Plan is to complain to PALs but not expecting success. Driver has found an FOI request from 2020 about the landowner which says
"the Trust owns the land, however University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire
NHS Trust operates under a Private Finance Initiative (PFI) contract and all the car
parks at University Hospital are leased to and managed by our Private Finance
Initiative Service Provider and this is operated on their behalf by the ISS who in turn
employ the services of the Car Parking Partnership."
So just to check where the landowner request should go to?
Also registered keeper will be away from 30th April till 8th May with very limited internet access, just in case this affects any timescales - not sure it does but wanted to ask to make sure nothing was being missed
With regards to an appeal to the parking company, I have seen the general appeal wording in the newbies thread - is this sent as is, or is something else added in about the miskey?
Thank you all.
Driver is most miffed that they paid for 3 hours to be on the safe side when the machine didn't automatically show the reg when they were there for less than two!

Check what the joint Code of Practice states about a miskeying error, especially if it was a single character, because i think it should be cancelled for a single character, if pointed out in addition to the keeper template
You can explain that the driver bla blah, same as you did above
Also check if the NTK PCN letter complied with POFA or not, because if it did then there is no point in not revealing who was driving
Perhaps a complaint about it to the estate management team might get it cancelled. ? Plan A

A single digit keying error must see a PCN cancelled on appeal.
Do not use the template appeal. Instead write about the single key mistake and quote the Joint CoP on simple keying errors. It has to be cancelled.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
