Forced return of an item sold as faulty?

I won be default on both.
My argument was that they lied in claiming SNAD when the item was clearly as described, that causes me to incur the loss of sending and the loss of return. It never actually got to that though because both got default judgements because they did not respond and I enforced from there.

I've not had much luck with customer services.
The first one basically told me I could appeal after the item was returned 'if I did not receive it back in the condition I sent it in'
That's fine except I have no reason to think that will happen. The buyer has admitted they read the listing and knew it was faulty and what the fault was but they didn't bother to look into the repair cost until after it had been delivered and basically they don't want to be out of pocket for messing me around.
Potentially they could be hoping I refund without a return or they have stolen other parts from it before returning but I don't have any reason to suspect that at this stage.
The second customer service rep (ireland) has told me to ignore the return request and it will then get escalated to ebay for them to deal with.
Apparently, at this point I will get the chance to dispute the return and give my reasons why.
I've never ignored a return before so I don't know what happens further along in the process and I'm wary of risking my account by trying it!
II'm also dubious about my ability of appealing this once it has been returned as I believe the item will come back to me in the same condition it left and I'll be out nearly £50 on the postage..

Well I'm glad the right decision came in the end. They probably didn't think you'd take it further & many probably wouldn't have done because "can't be bothered with the hassle". Glad you did though. These people need showing.
