N1SDT Court Claim from ParkingEye - Incorrect Address on MCOL
Hi all,
I am aware that we shouldn't fill up the forum with cases, but I thought I'd make a post as I have searched the forum and can't find anything specific to my case and need to know ASAP what move to make.
I received a ticket from ParkingEye a year or so ago for parking in a local carpark after hours. I was in the carpark for 13 minutes while waiting for a takeaway from an establishment that is next to the carpark, but technically not part of it. I wasn't aware I was breaching any of their supposed rules, and have returned to check and their signage does not make this clear at all. It is not even clear at what point the public road becomes the carpark.
Anyway, I received some letters last year, and checked out this forum. I intended to visit the establishment that the carpark serves and request they discontinue the requested "fine". But life has happened, and I've been extremely busy since the end of last year, and was aware the initial letters from DCB can be ignored.
A couple of weeks ago I received a letter from DCB Legal informing me that they were going to take it to court. A week later, a N1SDT letter from Northampton arrived saying a claim had been made against me for £264.
I totally support the wide approach of we all need to work collectively to fight these companies, so I am very determined to fight this for the greater good. I went on MCOL last night and followed the guide to make my AOS, however, upon going through the process, I noticed my address listed on MCOL was an old one. I haven't lived there for four years, and haven't lived anywhere other than my current address since. I have my correct address on my government gateway, so I'm not sure how this could happen.
What I need help with is how to proceed. I didn't file my AOS as I wanted to seek advice first, as I am concerned if file it with the wrong address it could cause trouble later.
My N1SDT issue date was 10th of April, + the 5 days, so deadline to file AOS is, as far as I understand it, the 29th. So I'm pushing it a little closer than I'm comfortable with.
How do I change my address, and do I have enough time to do so before my deadline runs out? If I don't have time, I will have to make the requested payment, which I really don't want to do.
Thanks in advance for any help.

You have correctly started a new thread about your case, no problem with doing so
Correct your address on MCOL by editing it in your government gateway account ,, on MCOL
Email the info@ email address for DCB Legal with the correct address for the service of papers if the address is wrong on the claim form or if they have your old address
Then complete your AOS online on MCOL too gain the extra time
Your deadline date will then be 4pm on 13th May

Thank you for your quick response.
I can't seem to find anywhere to edit my address in my Government Gateway account or on MCOL. I might just be being thick, but Google isn't being much help either.
I will email DCBLegal with my correct address. So far I have received everything at my correct address, and it is correctly listed on the claim form. I'm not sure why it is outdated on MCOL.
Thanks again!1 -

With an issue date of 10/04/26 and providing you complete(d) the AoS after 15/04/26 and before or on 29/04/26 your defence deadline date is 4.00 p.m. on 13/05/26

I've added a photo of the POC.
Massive thanks to Nellymoser for the link on how to change my details. Turns out, I was indeed being thick as the button is right below the one I was previously clicking on.
Incase anyone reads this in the future and is facing the same problem, there is a button near the top right of the MCOL homepage, underneath "User Profile", that says "Edit Registered Details".
I have now completed my AOS. I will go all the way with this claim, so now I need to brush up again on the next steps.
The process seems quite simple, but I have no experience with such things, so any events that are "off script" will give me pause. I imagine I will be back in the near future with some more questions in this thread.
Thanks again guys, your help is much appreciated.2 -
Well done so far
Breach not pleaded, so use the Chan and Akande defence template

Thanks for the advice. Just so I understand everything clearly - breach not pleaded - does this mean they haven't specified exactly what I've done?
Cheers0 -
Yes.
Use the alternative Chan & Akande para 3 linked twice in the Template Defence thread. Please don't ask us to check it.
