Lastminute.com will not give refund

I’m thinking closer to the time, do I contact Lastminute first and then my hotel? Or contact my hotel first so they are aware and then lastminute. Also I feel like if I contact the hotel too close to when I go, they may not look at it or respond in time

You confirmed in an earlier post that you booked a ‘package’. In this case it is Lastminute.com that you should continue to deal with.

As above, you don't contact the hotel at all - as a package booking that you wish to terminate, you must instruct the package provider (i.e. Lastminute) of this and there's no point in separately talking to hotels, airlines, etc.

Hi mate, emirates have cancelled my return flight only. Lastminute hasn’t contacted me yet. Am I still eligible for a full refund of my package even if the return flight is cancelled? They will probably try put me on another flight that same day (the morning one is still running), I can reject this and request full refund of package?

I'd stick to the argument about cancelling due to the FCDO advice constituting unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances, rather than trying to use the weaker flight cancellation one - as you say, they can put you on another flight without it being regarded as a significant change (which would have justified termination for a full refund).

Hi mate, managed to get the full refund which is processing. They cancelled my flight and put me on the flight for the next day (which is random because my that’s the day after I come back) so I complained about that and then mentioned FCDO advice. Surprised they listened. Thanks for your help.
