Water timer/Irrigation sprinkler system?
Hello everyone!
Summer is approaching and I am thinking about watering. Does anyone here use something like or even with an app?
I was thinking about setting this up along with https://www.screwfix.com/p/titan-impulse-sprinkler-300m-/449pt so it covers the whole garden from a single sprinkler rather than an oscillating type.

I remember people using these decades ago. There must be a reason they fell out of favour.
I guess you are not on a water meter? That would be one reason. So many people are that there probably wasn't the sales.
I've also known people more recently using them with drip system which is more economical but that was expensive and took more maintenance.
I've used a sprinkler in the past. Works well but I was made to feel guilty during water shortages.
So yes, it will work. Of course by doing the whole garden you won't be able to use it until it dries out but it will look green 😉

Yes we are on a water meter. Apparently a sprinkler is more economical and having a smart timer meant we could control the time for when we need to water or use water intelligently (so water the areas not watered).
Haven't fully decided as we are still pondering the cons and pros! Although I love technology (smart home with heating, dehumidifier, vacuum, etc all connected to Alexa!), I am tempted to throw in a water meter to the mix :)

There's one way to find out 🙂 you love your smart house which sounds fun. I'd be interested to know about the cost.
I'm the opposite end of the spectrum. I get a refund on minimal usage by having a bucket outside the door which I fill with surplus water like running taps till warm and the veg plants are placed in rings made from pots so water and feed go directly to the roots.
Do they have a thing to attach somewhere so you can add feed for your plants when needed? It used to be a thing with hoses. That would be the ultimate in being smart.

I had one of those, Miracle Gro, and just searched to find they still have them.
It was handy but my, how it gobbled up the fertiliser. I'm surprised MG didn't give them away free to increase sales of the powder

Ah yes I remember now.
That's why I only used it a couple of times and ditched it. And I was fertilising bare soil because of the width of spray.
