BMI pull out of flight ? what to do ?

I booked a flight with Air New Zealand from Inverness to Fiji last week. This week BMI who are covering the INV-LHR leg on a codeshare have pulled out of flying from Inverness & as no other carriers cover this route I may now have to travel to Aberdeen which is 2 hours away.Inverness Airport is only 10 mins. from my home so this is a major inconvenience at the start of a 2 day journey. Does anyone know what sort of compensation I would be entitled to, if any ? I do not wish to cancel & receive a refund.
Thanks in anticipation.

Have they given you more than 14 days notice?Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

They must have as I think they do not pull out of the route until April at the earliest.
The routes another victim of the success of lo-co airlines, and there are no Inverness - Heathrow alternatives.
No compensation will be paid though. It's not Air New Zealand's fault, if they are offering connections from Aberdeen you will have to do that. You're a bit hamstrung really.0 -
Agreed that they won't compensate -it's just bad luck that no-one else has taken over the route as you would have been switched if they hadI Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Thanks everyone suppose I'll just have to stump up for a train fare to Aberdeen.0

Have they contacted you yet to tell you what they will offer? Would Easyjet or FlyBe to Gatwick and then transfer bus to Heathrow be any good? Probably cheaper to transfer to Aberdeen tho as the bus is £19 each, each way!
Ask BMI if they will transfer you to Aberdeen-Heathrow flight and pay for the train, no harm in asking.
There IS still a connection to Heathrow. You could ask them to transfer you to the Loganair/BA flight Inverness-Edinburgh-Heathrow. Leaves Inverness about 10am. I always try and get work to put me on that flight for Heathrow connections.0
