Moorside legal first letter, no previous correspondence
Hello,
So I've received a "letter before claim" from moorside legal on behalf of ukps. An invoice for £170 dated 16/4/26.
Genuinely this is the first letter I've received, no previous correspondence from ukps.
Problem is I have no idea where our when the PCN occurred. The only info I have is a moorside reference number, my vehicle reg and the fact it's from ukps.
Zero success in contacting ukps to elaborate.
And I have zero interest in paying this invoice.
Any help or advice appreciated in advance.

Check if the letter is a true Letter of Claim giving you 30 days notice, or their interim non LoC begging letter that comes first that can be ignored due to being a debt collector letter
Check your V5c to ensure that its up to date, because moving address and not updating the V5c log book is the most common reason for missing paperwork ( not their problem, but the Registered Keepers problem. )
Is it UKPS. ? or UKCPS. ?
Do not phone anyone, do not pay either
Study the 2nd post in the newbies sticky thread in announcements near the top of the forum

Thank you,
I'll share the letter,
All of my details are up to date and present.

You can either respond with the LoC template response in the 2nd post in the newbies sticky thread in announcements near the top of the forum by coupon mad, then await a Money Claim N1SDT pack from the CNBC in Northampton using MCOL in the post
OR
ignore them and wait for the Money Claim pack in the future
But
Do not pay

II don't think that is a true, or at least not a compliant, letter before claim. Ok, they do give 30 days but there is no reference to the reply forms that they are required to give according to the pre-action protocol

I agree, I think that its the earlier begging letter version, but doesn't really matter either way, because eventually they may issue the actual Money Claim, regardless of any responses

I wouldn't have mind knowing what the original discrepancy was as I would have got in contact with the land owner and potentially got it dropped.
As is the case nowadays anpr cat parks are everywhere so I have no idea where it when it could have been.

Then a 30 day SAR to UKPS should obtain copies of the paperwork etc, but i suspect that a court claim may happen before enlightenment definitely before a landowner might act on your behalf

Read other Moorside LBC threads.
One is a real LoC and one is a preliminary version. Read other exact same Moorside threads to see what's what.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
