my mum received this letter over the weekend.

I was the driver, she the registered keeper at the time of the incident and had completely forgotten about the initial letter.

I wasn’t informed I had to put my reg into computer at the church (my child was attending a class there). It was very dark, poorly lit and I hadn’t seen any signs on the way in.

I emailed the church at the time and they said they wouldn’t help and I basically should’ve known better.

I genuinely forgot about the issue until this letter arrived, I know, I’m a dope.

I just want to know what I should / can do now.

I’m so lost doing stuff like this, I’ve tried finding the answers in previous posts but finding it hard

thank you

Your mum is the defendant so she must defend the claim, not you ! ( its too late to transfer liability from the keeper to the driver, so everything is done in her name )

She should login to MCOL via her government gateway account and complete the AOS online stage ASAP

Then she can use the Chan and Akande bespoke defence, from the defence template thread in announcements near the top of the forum , no changes, no additions

Note, its a Horizon claim via Gladstones dated 13th April, no breach pleaded

thanks so much for your comments

sorry I meant I’ll be doing everything for my mum as she’s computer illiterate!

I can’t find the chan and akande thread, idk if it’s bc I’m on mobile site

    I wasn’t kidding when I said I was a dope!

@Nellymoser I didn’t realise but the car has actually been scrapped so I think it’s ok to leave it in?

Please change your thread title to Horizon claim via Gladstones.

You can find the NEWBIES thread and the Template defence thread. I'm also posting on a phone and everything on the forum is visible. See my signature for how to hop around.

    Done the AOS yet?

But now you are able to do the AOS. Really really easy. There's a page by page pictorial link in the Template Defence thread.

You need to wait for your forum status to change from ‘Newbie’ to ‘Forumite’ to edit anything. Takes a few days or few more posts to get there. Alternatively, you can hit the ‘Report’ button (in red at the foot of each post) and ask an MSE Administrator to kindly edit it for you.
