Parking Eye Appeal

Hi all,

The registered keeper received a PCN for a hopsital parking issue.

An appeal was put in only referring to the driver and today received the attached response asking to name the driver.

They havent reviewed the appeal content this is the forst request.

Any advice on how to respond.

You don't respond but why hasn't PALS cancelled it when the motorist tried PLAN A?

Sorry i should have added, already been to PALs before appealing and they refused to look at it until we have appealed and had a response.

So i have been back to PALs, again they are unwilling to intervene until parking eye have reviewed the appeal. Please see below email. Am i best to allow the holding letter to expire and they then should review the appeal as is. Or should i respond saying no legal responsibility to name the driver please review the appeal as is.

Thank you for your email.  Reading the letter Parking Eye have not yet decided on the outcome of the appeal as they are awaiting further information.  The information required is one of the following options:-

 

• Provide the driver details i.e. Name and address so he/she can appeal
• Appeal on behalf of the driver of vehicle
• Continue with the appeal himself even though he was not driving the vehicle of the date of event of the PCN

 

Once Parking Eye have received once of the above options, they will then make their decision.  Many thanks

I suspect the PALS team are being told to say this by the parking company and they are out of their depth in terms of understanding POFA and the responsibilites of the keeper. I would go back to them and state that in the circumstances you wish to make a formal complaint to the Trust CEO. They cannot refuse to allow you to do so.

Hi there,

Update on this, heard nothing back from parking eye on this one and well over there deadline so i went back to pals asking them to squash it. Again refused just saying we need to respond to parking eye with required information even after telling them this isnt legally required and they should be reviewing the appeal in its own right.

Im now going to submit a CEO complaint and see if that helps. Anything i should be quoting or adding to get this taken seriously. Dont want them to avoid the fact i have sent an appeal they they havent even reviewed and more bothered about getting the name of a driver likely for future charge collection.

Why not also follow up to ParkingEye telling them they are out of time to issue a POPLA Code and you will be reporting them to the BPA.
