Car insurance for second vehicle (temporary)

We are changing our car and will end up with two vehicles until our existing one is sold.

Is it better to add the new car to the existing policy and then later remove the current car, or should we simply take out temporary cover on the new car until the old one sells and then change the policy details to the new car and remove the current one?

Thanks

Speak to your insurer to see what they say but as you can only use your NCD on one car at a time then one is going to have to be insured without NCD applied.

The better insurers used to allow 30 days free cover on your old car when you changed cars. I'm guessing that many still do, subject to whatever restrictions they deem appropriate.
