Hello everyone
I got back from a very relaxing holiday on Friday afternoon. The place we stayed in Corfu was called Kassiopi, it was very sleepy with some of the restaurants and cafes still closed for winter - we spent our time lying on wooden sun loungers above a bay, DD went in for a swim a couple of times, and eating some really lovely meals. We did go into Corfu town one day which we enjoyed, but it was quite busy, it must be awful in the summer….neither of us liked the very windy bus journey, where it kept looking like we were going to fall over a cliff.
I had a food delivery yesterday morning, then went down to see mam and dad, who are both fine, though mam seemed more confused and is still asking when she's going home. I took her for a walk and we sat in the sun for a little while, though it was spoilt by the fuss dad made when we went back, even though my brother had been there with him while we were out. I have mams phone sorted back in her room, so I can ring her at night when dads gone to bed…it had ended up in one of dads' drawers downstairs.
Redruby I really feel for you, my mam is still insisting her and dad were eating properly at home, she tried the ready meals that get delivered too and refused to have them again, saying she could cook better. The M and S ready meals I bought went in the bin too. They both look healthier now they're eating properly in the care home, they go along to the dining room for their lunch and usually have soup, a main course and a pudding. Mam never ate breakfast, but now she does, plus tea at night time and copious amounts of tea, coffee, cakes and biscuits. It was hard coming home and they were there instead of being at home, but I know they're safe and well looked after there.
Little one came up at tea time and stayed the night, she was thrilled with the wooden Pinocchio puppet on a string I bought her and quickly got the hang of it.
Her visit was cut short when I woke this morning with the most awful migraine I've had for a long time, I was sick and she rang DD to say she'd better go home - she can't physically be sick and is really scared if someone else is. She was a little star and went downstairs to make jam sandwiches and apple juice, I thought I might feel a bit better if I ate something - I didn't! She disconnected her feeding pump, sorted her stuff to go back home and cuddled me till DD came for her. I'd taken one of my migraine tablets and went straight to sleep for nearly 4 hours, I'm managed some scrambled egg and toast so will just have a lazy afternoon.
I'm back to work tomorrow, so need to be ok to go in. Right, I'm going to get dressed as I'm still in my pyjamas and have a walk down to mam and dads house, other brother is here for a few days and I need to see what needs doing…no he won't see for himself but at least he will be visiting them for a few days.
Hope everyone is ok, I did do a quick read back, Taff doesn't seem to have been on? x
