Builder charging for patio and steps

As far as I can remember he said they had to take the gate and little fence down, they'd have to dig up the patio to make the extension but they'd lay it all back and put the gate back when they'd finished. He didn't say he'd charge me for it.

I'm going to send him a message now and see what he says. This is the first dealings I've ever had with builders so I'm a bit lost.

I've just messaged him and he's agreed to fix the gate and the steps and to lay chippings on the rest. I asked him what happened to the paving slabs and he said they went in the skip as he asked me what to do with them and I said I didn't need them as I was relaying the patio. 🙄

I just want all the odds and ends done now and say goodbye to them. What was supposed to be a six week job started before christmas and still isn't finished because they keep going off on other jobs.
