Tax on a prepaid card for charity

The risk of fraud, or perception of fraud is far too great with the solution the OP proposes.
The charity needs to operate properly and with proper governance in all regards. There are genuine costs associated with regulatory compliance and that includes the costs of appropriate banking services. If the charity is of a size that it incurs costs of £20k - £30k in a 2-month period each year, then the costs of the £300 for banking services is a negligible sum.
Less than the costs of a simple investigation following a concern raised by an interested (or mischievous) party.
Not worth risking the charity's reputation, nor the OP's personal reputation over this small and genuine operating expense.

In light of advice from all on this forum, I won't be using a personal card. The task now is to find a very cheap or free business card.

Thanks. I think that I will be able to find something suitable for less than £300. That's just too much. 🤔

But to put this into perspective £300 on a £30k spend... is 1%

It could be several meals for our beneficiaries so I will shop around for something cheaper.
