ii website?

I just tried to login to the ii website. It says: "Due to planned maintenance work, this service is currently unavailable." but it doesn't say how long it will be offline and they didn't send me any warning in advance. How often does this happen? And is it acceptable?

It happens a few times a year, usually at a weekend and last from a few hours to up to a day. Yes, it’s acceptable, as they have to maintain and update the website. It’s normally back by Sunday afternoon, so I just check back then

I use their mobile app ( on a tablet).

There is always a pre-warning during the week of any maintenance work planned over the ensuing weekend.

    EDIT

My app states the shut will run from 8.00 am Saturday morning to 1pm Sunday.

I find the warning comes at the top RH section of the online website and seems to go up there sometime on a Friday - it tends to be Saturday and maybe part / all Sunday as above.

It's no use posting notification on the website - I don't look at it unless I need to. They need to send an email. And the web page that says it is planned needs to explain the plan - when from and until! IMHO

And HL never needed to take their website offline in all the time I was with them, IIRC. So that's a spurious explanation.

Have to smile at the assertion that HL does not have maintenance downtime.

Right now looking at my HL app today, indicating that ... ' We're carrying out planned maintenance between 3.00pm and 8.30pm today. As a result, maybe short periods during this time where you might not be able to log in.' There was no emailed warning of this, and frankly would not expect it.

I am used to most of the financial institutions I deal with having maintenance downtimes. Must be very tough for IT engineers to repell the constant 24/7 assault from hackers, without front end services going off line from time to time.

Rest assured these periods of downtime is to keep your account robust and safe.

I just logged in to the HL website. No problems and nothing that I can see on the site about it not being there.

As I said I access via their mobile app ( biometrics ) , not the Web.

No doubt different back end maintenance protocols apply.

    EDIT

Just logged in on the Web version ( out of curiosity) and the same blue banner warning appears on my account summary page after logging in.

Pretty sure your account must be showing the same warning.

They were clear on the dates/time on the website when i last logged into my account - back to normal Sunday about 1 pm - no big deal and necessary anyway.
