Megaflow problem - is it thermostat?

I'm not familiar with that boiler, but a 25o temp drop suggests it's transferring heat very nicely.
It's a mystery.
Is there a magnetic filter fitted?

No magnetic filter - no filter of any kind from what I can tell. But the pipes into/out of the boiler are big so hopefully sludge not the cause…… Have messaged the boiler man as that is probably/hopefully where the issue lies.

Boiler man has investigated. Says capacitor on circulation pump needs replacing and that is likely source of problem (capacitor fails to start pump, boiler heats water, heated water rises up through system to heat water tank but as it is not being circulated through the systemit can only go so far and then boiler gets to its thermostat temperature and cuts out. He manually started the pump and everything seemed to work fine, but we will see when he replaces the capacitor (needs to order!).

Quickly looked it up. It is a monster - 80kW, 100kW, or 120kW. Can be used with gas or oil (non-condensing).
If there is a local electric motor repair shop, you'd probably find they have start capacitors on the shelf. From experience the value is not that critical. But if it is not replaced, there is a very good chance that the motor will burn out.
Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.0 -
Wow - good guy! Most would just swap the whole pump.
Fingers crossed.

OP - How old is the pump? it might make sense just to replace it with a new one as they do not last forever.

>20 years. But big bill to replace - boiler man thinks its working fine for now (apart from capacitor issue).

Had to check. Nope, we're not on the MWE site. :-)
