Ampthill is where you'll find the memorial for Colonel Richard Nicolls(1st gov) in the parish church of St Andrews complete with cannonball in its pediment.

Great River Ouse is around there (anyone agree?) River Lea forms the traditional boundary between the counties of Middlesex and Essex, and was used for part of the Danelaw boundary.

Luton airport - 1938

Robert Adam (3 brothers, James, John and William) built Luton Hoo (treasure house) and there was a devastating fire there in 1843.
