Parking @ The Range - I spent £125 in store
Hi there. Wondered if any advice could be given. I’ve recieved a fine from Parking Eye for staying 2 hr 25 minutes at The Range Winchester. I was in the store and purchased £125 worth of goods. How can I appeal this? What can I write ? And also is this likely to be cancelled due to me being a paying customer ? Thank you

Study the 1st post in the newbies sticky thread in announcements near the top of the forum
Plan A is by far the best option here, a complaint to the business or retail park management company or landowner, not an appeal to the private parking company ( if they issued the pcn to you, why on earth would they cancel it. )
Add proof of patronage to any Complaint ( or any appeal. )
The appeals are plans B & C

follow the good advice above
and let the manager know that you want to bring it all back for a refund
may help concentrate his/her mind

..a refund on what grounds???
.."It's everybody's fault but mine...."0 -
On the grounds that they allow change of mind returns for in-store purchases within 14 days (if the OP is within that).

And on the grounds that legitimate shoppers who spend money in store, should not be punished with a £100 pcn

…unfortunately not relevant, as I am sure there is clear signage that states a maximum parking time??, but if they allow "non fault" 14 day returns then fair enough…..

This is not a fine, there could be clear signage that states Trespassers will be shot, however it still wouldn't make being shot justifiable

Its highly relevant, because it is the leverage to getting a cancellation
There may be further signage allowing people to register for extra parking time, or a cancellation clause in the contract if more than say £30 was spent in store, so if you dont get mad, you dont get even, or succeed
There are hundreds or thousands of cases of proof of patronage obtaining cancellations, or hidden keypad issues, or landowner contracts not agreeing with the parking companies contracts
Putting pressure on the business is just one aspect of getting a cancellation, its been tried and succeeded numerous times previously, including being a successful strategy against Parking Eye on one of our local retail parks owned by British Land ( 3 hours or 4 hours is more common round here. )
If the free parking time was longer on that retail park for genuine shoppers, these pcns wouldn't be issued. !

Why don't you just appeal with the receipt, like the NEWBIES thread tells you?
ParkingEye will cancel it.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Are you saying that regardless of the amount of spend and length of time taken to do so, that a poxy sign, 10 feet up on a lamp post, can over-rule any semblance of sense? At DIY stores, the selection of a new kitchen, which could cost in excess of £20,000, would likely take more time than on the sign to finalise.
What would you suggest the customer does if the ‘witching hour’ approaches and the purchase still hasn’t been concluded?
