storage heaters

I'm not sure what to do. I moved into a property 2 months ago and have economy 7 storage heaters. I left electric as it was on e7 because I didn't know how this worked. When my bill came in it was exceptionally high even though I was on e7 rate. I'm not sure what to do now because it seems that people are panicking over the price cap. I have done a comparison and have found a fixed flat rate which I have now signed up to but I'm worried about what will happen come winter when I will have to put 2 of the storage heaters on. I do not use the hot water tank at all due to it being too expensive and only use it for washing up anyhow. On the ML. site i am unable to edit my details to confirm that I'm using storage heaters and am finding this extremely confusing

    Welcome to the forum.

I moved into a property 2 months ago and have economy 7 storage heaters.

Storage heaters are one of the cheaper ways to heat a property wth electricity. Having them is a good thing.

I left electric as it was on e7 because I didn't know how this worked.

An E7 tariff is likely to be a good option for a property with storage heaters.

When my bill came in it was exceptionally high even though I was on e7 rate.

Winter bills can be expensive, but they will fall as the seasons change and the weather warms up. Can you share details of your bills here? We migh be able to help you understand them.

When you moved into your property, did you take meter readings and provide them to your supplier? Have your recent bills been based on actual readings?

@Idontknow1 I would add to QrizB's questions - are you sure that these are Storage Radiators ? Some people describe the very thin radiators and also those that look like them but have a great big hot water tank as storage - they are not.

If you are used to gas then you will find electric more expensive. Once you have learnt to control them Storage Heaters can be a good option.
