I too am too old for jury service which I am a bit miffed about as i have missedi my chance now. My Bob was called up once but it was a disappointment to him. It involved an awful lot of sitting around and he never got to actually serve on a trial. His one and only case was thrown out due to lack of evidence!

Morning all, thanks @Gers for starting the Daily.
Yesterday was quite mild but, my word, at one point the rain came down in almost monsoon proportions! I'm glad I wasn't out in it. Today should be calmer with a gentle breeze and sunny intervals, rain unlikely until later in the evening.
The slow emptying bathroom sink didn't give up easily yesterday but I think another go today should do the trick. I've tidied the freezer as best I can and all bedding is now back in the blanket box. @Coxy - Trust me, I'm not always busy and can be very lazy when it suits me! 😁 Today it's just the usual daily stuff including a quick and easy pasta tea with the already made bol sauce.
Happy days, DS has accepted a job offer to start at the end of the month but, as he'll be classed as self employed, needs a spreadsheet setting up for incomings/outgoings etc. Whilst he is computer literate, he's not great with formulae so guess who will be doing that? 🤔
@Izzy - I've never been called for jury service and won't have that pleasure as I'm too old now!
@camelot - Have a lovely time at the circus with your little one. Treasure the memories of that innocence of believing in fairy doors and the like - children grow up all too quickly.
@Gers - Glad the family are back home safe and sound after their long journey. You've just reminded me I haven't had liver & onions in a long while. I hope your urologist appointment goes well today. I much prefer a paper calendar or diary too - just imagine what a state we'd be in if everything online suddenly went kaput! 😮
@Ruby - I'm glad you had a good day out with Matt and hope it wasn't spoiled by the ranting missive from O's mum. Fingers crossed you do get paid. Sorry to hear your mum may be in hospital for a while; I hope you and your sister can come up with a plan for the future.
@mehefin - Sorry to hear about your car, I hope you (and passenger) weren't too shaken up.
That's today's waffle from me so I'll wish everyone a good day, hugs for those needing one and a wave to our MIA. X
Be kind to others and to yourself too.9 -
@RedRuby1231 - Could you and your sister with your mother's help cook some meals in advance and label them clearly to freeze? I keep sandwich fixing in my refrigerator also so it is easy to make a meal at any time. Good luck with getting your Mum to eat properly.

Hi Nancy,
I already do that, her freezer is full of hm ready meals that she just has to heat through, she is just not doing it - her eye sight is going too which doesn’t help. She gets lots of meat and veg delivered each week promising that she will cook it, then I throw most of it out on a Monday as it’s spoilt, I think it’s getting to the stage where she needs carers in every day to make sure she has eaten. Thanks for the suggestion though xxx

@RedRuby1231 - Does she attend a church where a different person could come check up on her each day. Maybe even come and eat with her?
