Am I Opening myself up to trouble with an Ebay Buyer

I have an item I am selling and have been approached by a buyer offering less than half my asking price plus postage.

I declined and reiterated my desired price plus postage which they responded with the same offer again.

I highlighted the fact that my item is very reasonable and to buy it new would cost 4 times my asking price, and considering I've only used it once its a bargain. Every other listing is double my price and above.

They told me that they're not interested as there are so many more they could buy and I wished them a good day.

Today they come back messaging me that they would pay double the original price including postage which I kindly declined and said I thought you had loads of options.

I have now raised the price somewhat but not as higher as the cheapest item.

If they were to buy these and they were delivered using simple delivery could I be opening myself up to trouble.

Would you just block, or chance the sale as using simple delivery provides you with some level of protection. I also have an unblemished 5 star rating with all my sales.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I can't be bothered with chancers, so if it was me, I would block them.
I used to have a buyer who emailed me several times, months apart, offering a ridiculous low price for a few of my items. Despite me advising that my items are unique hand made items, which I do not discount, they still persisted.

In terms of delivery you should be covered, but they could open a vexatious SNAD and potentially wangle a refund without returning the item. If alarm bells are ringing (which evidently they are) then it's usually best to block, not worth the anxiety or potential hassle.

I'd add, run, run and run as fast as you can and DON'T look back.

Totally concur with the above, this would be a 100% block. TBH I always block lowballing numpties anyway, most people I am associated with I know also do likewise. Reason being - most people show up their true selves the first time they have dealings with you. If their first best offer was less than half your asking price, then IMO you are wasting your time dealing with them.

The other thing I would say is that you never have to justify your price to anyone, particularly people who want something for virtually nothing. Your reasons are your reasons. Also IMO I believe that there is no chance at all, that you will ever convince these people with any kind of logical argument.

eBay set your account up to let you block 5,000 idiot buyers. There is a reason for that.
