MSE Forum Poll: How many streaming services does your household pay for?

I only pay for Now TV as there was an offer of £3.99 p/m for a year, and there is loads I want to watch. I get Disney+ free with Lloyds, but I've largely run out of things I'm interested in watching, hence the other sub.
I don't bother with a TV licence as I've no need to watch live TV and no interest in BBC really. I do occasionally use the on demand apps for ITV and Channel 4.

Paid around £20 for YTP for the year, NF £5pm and paramount was £25 for the year. All cheaper than a TV license

Surely if you pay for Broadband or TV licence your technically paying anyway. 🤔 It's just access to pay more money really.

TV Licence, yes, but I wouldn't count broadband, there are dozens of other reasons why broadband is essential to most families, streaming is just an additional benefit in many cases.
If your primary reason for having broadband is for streaming though, then possibly yes.
• The rich buy assets.
• The poor only have expenses.
• The middle class buy liabilities they think are assets.0 -
I think prices will fall because people are sick of corrupt companies overcharging, so the temporary deals that people sign up to most don't look beyond cancel anytime. That process is made difficult deliberately, confirm cancellation x 5 times in some cases corrupt.

Apologies - looks like I have misled you - we also have an Amazon Prime subscription, but don't watch much there, we really have it for the free next day delivery. Can't remember watching/streaming anything from Amazon Prime recently. Will have to think again if it's worth it when we are due to renew - it worries me that they are potentially paying a fortune for Football coverage, I am paying towards that and have no interest in football whatsoever …. so I view that as a rip off. I have the same view of the BBC spending a fortune on Football coverage and Match of the Day presenters… there is plenty of Football on other channels or streaming service why do the BBC think it's necessary to compete? Sorry if that's a different can of worms.

None - though in the past I have temporarily had Apple TV due to purchase of product.
The general coverage of films and TV in newspapers, etc., sometimes raves over a program which might sound interesting. But I often have to spend time identifying which service it is on. Then find it is one that I do not have. Indeed, it has got to the point I don't even glance at reviews most of the time. I look at what is on Freeview and live with that. Or don't watch any television.
As someone who lives on my own, a cost which might seem justifiable for a couple, or a houseful, is too much for one person. (I know you might have to pay even more to watch multiple offerings simultaneously. But one sub would allow many individuals to watch the same thing or allow sharing out streaming time.)
The core Freeview offerings include some good programs. Except when they are thrown off for sport. The problem being more often that there isn't anything on at a particular time. So long as they remain "free" the catch-up services cover that gap.
Even when I had Apple TV, finding programs other that the major current ones being promoted was ridiculously difficult. Continually ending up being pointed at things which require additional payments.

watch Ted Lasso and Slow Horses. It’s worth having Apple for those two programmes alone

I have quite a lot of streaming services, some included in my sky subscription. There is some fantastic stuff on telly, granted there is also a load of rubbish, but if you pick well you are missing out on a lot if you don’t watch.
But, horses for courses, I’m getting fairly infirm so nowadays I’m more inclined to watch than do!0
