Should a full refund include delivery costs?

How much time/effort are you willing to spend to try to get back a tenner?

The CCRs do specifically provide that any extra paid by the consumer for a method of delivery more expensive than the "… least expensive common and generally acceptable kind of delivery offered by the trader… " is not refundable, but the trader should still refund at whatever is the least expensive rate they offer,
The CRA doesn't have a similar limiting provision, so I'd have thought the consumer was entitled to a full refund of delivery costs, whether they've paid for standard or some form of expedited delivery(?).
Also, provided the contract value is >£100 I'd have thought delivery costs were covered by s75.
Or are you thinking that the camera plus delivery costs is not "a single item" for the purposes of s75?

I suspect "It's the principle, innit?"
And if it is covered by s75, why not? (That sounded weirdly like Barry Norman…)

It's not the CCR though?
Question is, would delivery costs be covered by s75 if separately itemised as opposed to "including delivery"?

They would. Although they could argue that only std delivery & not the extra for next day.
But not worth the trouble & possible complaint.
OP is not 100% clear on jut which way they are going & expecting a refund from? S75 or retailer refund. As we know cant have both.
If retailer is refunding, then S75 would not cover the shortfall between std & next day. Same with a chargeback. Although they may just get a rep who would simply write it off.

So after refusing the refund flat out and insisting I wait for the repair I fired off a letter of rejection - next day they refunded me the laptop price but no postage so I told them to refund me in full. Three hours later they refunded the £9.99 express delivery. It has all now been refunded.😁

Glad it's been resolved.
For other posters who have commented around the issue of whether you are entitled to a refund of the postage, the consumer cancellation regulations can't be applied or inferred because those regulations are for change of mind and not faulty goods.
The Consumer Rights Act does in fact make provision for a refund of postage fees. Section 20(9) and (10) cover this, which says:
(9) The consumer's entitlement to receive a refund works as follows.
(10) To the extent that the consumer paid money under the contract, the consumer is entitled to receive back the same amount of money.
Postage was paid for, so postage should be refunded.
