Quidco.... Bonus Cashback!

Hi all

I have been a user of Quidco and other cashback websites for many years. Earlier this year, I made a purchase at Laithwaite's for some wine following Quidco running a bonus cashback promotion.

The order was placed and the cashback tracked with no problems. No changes or alterations were made and the order was delivered quickly.

Subsequently, to my surprise the retailer declined the cashback. I put in a claim assuming that this was an error as this was a completely genuine transaction and this has also been declined. I have been told by Quidco that it was because the order was either returned, amended or cancelled. However, none of these are correct, no changes were made at the order was perfectly valid and tracked. In fact I don't think I have ever changed a wine order once it has been placed!

I am suspicious that the cashback has been declined due to the bonus that was attached with it. I do take a fairly dim view of retailers which put offers enticing purchases on these various platforms and then decline to honour the deal. I just want to warn others that Laithwaite's seem to be operating in this way should they have any future offers be wary that they will possibly be declined without a valid reason.

It would be interesting to know if anyone else has a similar experience with Quidco and bonus cashback offers.
