Natwest Pots - money transferred to accounts disappeared

Hi all

So I have two pots set up on Natwest mobile banking and I put £1k in one and £150 in the other a week ago to keep aside for the rent.

On Sunday I transferred this back to the relevant accounts and sent my rent payment to my LL, which left my account no problem. I could also see in the transactions the deposits from the pots.

Today I check my mobile banking and both accounts are massively overdrawn and there's no record in my transactions of the money from the pots being transferred!!!

Thankfully when I view the pots I can see the transfers in and out from there and Natwest know there's a problem, but I now have no money at all. Zilch, nothing and they don't seem bothered by that! I also have Direct debits going out which are going to fail because of this.

Do I have any rights to demand they credit my account with the missing money? Surely they have no right to lose £1150 of my money and just expect me to wait for them to fix it?. Thanks for any advice

It's a bug, your money has not been lost, it's just not showing in your account.

Have you checked if the same problem online?

Just make sure that Natwest will honour any direct debits or other spend and will not levy charges or interest.

They will sort it out eventually.

Good time to swap to your backup current account….

They haven't lost your money, that's legally impossible, but by not providing an accurate statement they are providing misleading information and are obliged to actively fix the problem in a reasonable time. They are also liable for eventual losses, and in some cases compensation for adverse eventualities.

Also I'm sure you are aware but any money in pots don't get interest
