Morning all, thanks Scarlet. It's nice here but rain is promised later. I'd been reading on my kindle in bed since 6 & just before 7 thought I heard the doorbell, and Ldog running up and down- he doesn't usually stir before 8 so I got up to look.He was trying to stick his nose through the gap in the curtains but failed. I couldnt see anything, then DS came up from his basement, & he'd had notification of a delivery, left under our wood store at the front. DH was oblivious, he doesn't get up that early since his knee op and retiring 😉
I tend to read most books on my kindle these days and get quite a few free with prime so I will return them if I don't like them.I have a paperback I'm also reading, but it's thick and small print so that's taking me ages.
I've taken a chicken & mushroom pie from the freezer, easy tea as we're going to a match tonight.Ruby, I bought some mince from Morries that was a beef/pork mix and that was nice too and a fair bit cheaper.
Good luck today SSue. Have a nice day everyone.

Morning all, thanks for the start off @Scarlet.
Today's weather report says it will be sunny this morning followed by rain this afternoon (again), a gentle breeze all day and top temperatures up to 11 deg.
Yesterday I finished off the cross stitch piece, did a bit more knitting, started a new book and watched the final episode of The Vanishings. It did reveal who the villain was at the end but, as often happens, left the plot open as to what happened to him - was he caught or did he get away with it? Methinks there could be a second series. The two storage bags I ordered were delivered and I'm pleased to see they really are big enough to fit in a double duvet, spare pillows etc.
While I'm out for the weekly top-up shop today I'll return the two books I've read. There's the usual daily stuff to do and a batch of fruit scones to make that can go in the oven at the same time as tonight's Cornish pasties. Just another ordinary day but better that than one filled with dramas! 😁
@Chrisca - Glad to hear your boiler is OK for another year!
@Scarlet and @Suffolksue - Good luck with your hospital appointments today.
@Ruby - Have a lovely day tomorrow when you visit Matt - it was nice of his mum to ask you to go with her.
@Gers - I'm crossing my fingers your family's return trip to the UK is less stressful than the outward one to Oz.
Must get a wriggle on so I'll wish everyone a good day. Take care all. X

morning everyone Gers I have triplets grandchildren all girls not identical but you can see they are sisters they were 28 in January seems two minutes since they were born it was maybe me you were thinking about. Scarlet I’m in a book club although it’s a new one when we go this time it will only be the 3rd time I loved the first book and it wasn’t something I would have normally read but the second one was rubbish I wasn’t sure what you did so I thought well that’s what it’s all about people having different views on things and I wasn’t the only one who didn’t like it although the girl who runs it it’s one of her favourite authors. Good luck with the biopsy Suffolk sue I hope it’s not to painful and you are soon back home . We had a frost this morning but not as hard as yesterday it’s nice and bright but still chilly. I’ve just got in from a cleaning job I’m having a cuppa and I will take the dog for a walk I did get a line of washing dry yesterday so that was a bonus I’ve taken a couple of bacon chops out for tonight I will do mash and beans with them nice and easy. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing

Good morning
Dry and bright here, with rain possible later. I was in the shower earlier when a blooming big spider came dangling down in front of me. Now, I'm not afraid of spiders, but sharing a shower is a step too far. I quickly got out and rehomed it. It reminded me of my dad's saying "If you want to live and thrive, let a spider run alive".
Sausages and mash tonight. Nothing else happening except the usual chores.
Have a good day all, take care.

@camelot1001 I used to work opposite Lambeth Bridge and sometimes if I had to take a different bus in the morning I'd have to walk past the War Museum to get to work. Same as you, I've never been there.

The Imperial War Museum was one of my favorite places to visit. You can even go read material from the war in the Reading Room. I was working my way through the home front material.
