Parking charge at Tesco Launceston
Hi everyone. Newbie here!
I have been contesting a charge made by Horizon for parking at Tesco Launceston. This happened a few weeks ago on a Sunday evening. I stopped in the carpark for just under 30 mins whilst waiting to meet my daughter and swap her daughter from my car to hers - grand-daughter had been with us for a weekend stay and Launceston is half way between us.
I received a "fine" from Horizon for exceeding the parking time. I have exchanged a couple of emails with them but they still insist they are right and the £40 has to be paid.
Before I finally concede this, can some kind person who goes to Tesco Launceston please check the board for the parking terms and conditions. If the time allowed before a charge applies is 30 minutes then I think I have an "out" on this!
Grateful for any help you guys can offer!
Cheers
Alhod

It's not a fine, it's an invoice based upon an assumed contract.
Folks will be along to advice you soon.
You may be able to see the signage via google maps.
Never identify the driver of the vehicle.

Where did you park? Plenty of Tescos are badly signed by Horizon and are infested with two parking companies bizarrely, so you can park and only be presented with the bright green "YourParkingSpace" signage and therefore never enter into a contract with Horizon.
Launceston looks sparsely signed on Streetview and the outer ring of spaces and the ones near the trees seem to have no signage.1 -
"Before I finally concede this…"
Really? Why on earth would you?
Nobody here ever pays Horizon at any stage. Why haven't Tesco cancelled it for you?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

A question: do you have to have made a purchase to be a "customer"?
What if you go to a store to look for something and they don't have it in stock?
