UKPC Parking Fine - Cambridge 2026

Created an account to post this question as I'm unsure about what to do - I did read the newbies thread and used the template email from it, but my particular situation is not covered (parking on a PRIVATE ROAD as opposed to a CAR PARK) and thus I feel it may be different.

I received one of these invoices from UKPC, for parking for 30 minutes on Westbrook Drive in Cambridge.

This is a private road, with double yellow lines and a few (but potentially inadequate) signage.

I "parked" there because my wife had an emergency dental issue and close to this road is a dentist - we have a 6 month old baby, and had to take baby with us to the emergency dental appointment.

I pulled into this private road to drop my wife off. Once she was out the car, baby started screaming and crying (typical baby stuff), so I got out of the drivers seat and into the rear of the car so I could feed and comfort baby. By the time baby was sleeping, my wife returned and we drove off.

I then receive this letter in the mail addressed to the keeper, with a picture of my car on the double lines and a time of approx 35 minutes that i'd stayed there.

So far:-

-I have not paid
-I have appealed the charge and they've given me the cookie cutter appeal rejection
-I have not admitted who the driver was

Recently i drove past the same road again and confirmed that on entry to the road there is a UKPC branded sign that says "No street parking", but not much else on entry - there are other signs further down the road but I didnt have time to park and walk down there to get photos.

I know im technically in the wrong here as its quite obvious you're not meant to be parked on that road, but the language in this forum intimates i should not pay under any circumstance.

So my question is, should i just pay the £60 to get them off my back or is it still worth fighting?

(p.s. if my thread is deleted by admins I'll take that as confirmation I should just pay the fine, apologies for wasting peoples time)

Just to add more - I did try to find out the landowner of this road and it appears to be a joint venture between 2 financial companies (investment firms), so is it really worth my reaching out to them?

Its definitely NOT a fine, just an invoice

The admins here won't delete your legitimate thread or query

I doubt that the landowners will cancel this PCN you have received

Do not pay !

Ignore them for now

Come back to this thread if or when you receive an LBC or a Money Claim N1SDT pack from the CNBC in Northampton using MCOL

Today I received a letter from Oak Legal Services telling me to pay or they’ll proceed to court.

Do I need to take action at this stage or keep ignoring until I get the N1SDT pack?

Happy to post a copy of the letter after I’ve redacted all personal info.

Today I received a “Letter of Claim” from “dcb legal ltd”, can’t tell if this another front for ZZPS so just adding a note here in case I need to respond to this one

No N1SDT pack yet so I’m presuming I carry on ignoring

Check if it gives you 30 days notice and includes financial forms, or not

If it does, use the LoC response template to DCB Legal

DCB Legal are not ZZPS.

Whether you reply or not, you'll get a court claim but they always discontinue defended UKPC claims before hearings. Dead easy to defend it and the claim is what you want: the end game beckons in 2027!
