ParkingEye & DCB Legal

Hi there!

I've been lurking around the forum for a while, following the guides in the newbies thread etc.

So I'd been receiving letters for a couple of years regarding a parking charge from 2019. The company was ParkingEye and solicitors were DCBLegal.

A court claim against me was finally issued on 04/03/2026.

These are my current transactions on MCOL

  • Your defence was submitted on 08/03/2026 at 15:49:58
  • Your acknowledgment of service was received on 09/03/2026 at 01:05:50
  • Your defence was received on 09/03/2026 at 08:05:44

I used the defence template from the newbies thread and I received a letter a few days later saying my defence had been received and would be sent to the claimant, to which they would have 28 days to respond.

I've estimated it to be around 28 days since they should have received my defence. However I've had no further correspondence since. No directions questionnaire, no emails, no calls, no nothing.

Is this normal? What should I do now?

I've had a quick google and this is what's come up.

"If a claimant does not respond to your court defence within 14 days, the claim is likely to be stayed. It does not mean you automatically win; however, you should contact the court to ask for the case to be dismissed or for a direction. A failure to reply does not automatically mean your defence is accepted."

How do I do this via MCOL? Or is there another step I have missed? Really don't want to end up with a CCJ if I've missed a step or done something wrong.

Appreciate any help and advice.

Many Thanks! :)

Am I missing something? Surely a claim for a 2019 parking invoice would need to be issued at the latest by the end of 2025. Is the alleged debt not statute barred?

What is the exact date of the alleged parking event? The claim was issued on 04/03/26 so this is in time if the event was 04/03/20 but out of time if your parking invoice date is correct.

Post a correctly redacted picture of the claim form below after hiding

Name and address, VRM details, password and claim reference number

Delays are very common these days, so because your defence and N180 DQ document are logged, don't fret about the Delays, but do keep checking your MCOL claim history weekly
