I got a white magic sponge out of the kitchen cupboard and yes it worked very well getting rid of the white marking, which is the most noticeable part. For some reason it was labelled 'not suitable for car bodywork' but in my case I seem to have got away with it!

Brilliant aren't they, I suspect they do make swirls I did it on silver paintwork which would be hard to see, black may make a mess. They definitely help to take the worst off though and distract your eye

Definitely did well to keep it away from a bodyshop. They would have sprayed half your car and made a right mess.
