Bathroom Suite Replacement

Hello all,

I've been quoted 650 quid from a Polish Plumber to remove my old bathroom suite and plumb in a new one. I live in Battersea, in a first floor flat.

All I want is the suite fitting - tiling etc is being taken care of separately by a friend and myself.

I thought 650 wasn't too bad (I'm supplying the suite), but any thoughts from others?

Good morning: I thought you had somebody in your sights last summer? http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=524301&highlight=bathroom

    What happened?

P.S. Cheap price for Battersea...have you seen his work? As always, three written itemized quotes are in order. ;)

    Hi Canucklehead,

Yes I did - but decided to save up some dosh first!

Then I found a friend with some tiling experience, and decided how much more money I could save.

Let me know if you think this is a false economy...

    Hope you're well Canuck!

Good afternoon: Ah...true moneysaving! If you can do it yourself (or with the help of your mate) then go for tiling it ...lots advice available online;) eg. http://www.ultimatehandyman.co.uk/tiling/index.htm

£650 seems ok, we paid that approximatly 3 years ago, although there was a bit of moving around stuff in the bathroom.
Ask him if you can see some work he has already done?
Just a bit of reassurance that you are getting value for money.
    Happy bathrooming!!

    Life's way too short!
