Vax guarantee period - warning all parts not all covered equally
We have had several Vax uprights over the years - found them reliable.
So bought a Vax Blade stick pet vacuum Dec 2024. This comes with a 3 year guarantee.
Today the battery would not charge - looks like the cable coming out of the Power supply has a break. Looking at it, its no wonder, as the cable comes out of the top and then bends sown to the battery connector, so always in tension.
Turns out the charger has only 1 years cover, where as the battery and vacuum have 3 years.
Had to buy a new one at £25.99 ( normally £29.99) as hoover useless without it

Quite separately from any guarantees that Vax might offer, you have consumer rights with whoever you bought the cleaner from.
Why didn't you use those statutory rights to claim a replacement charger?

It's a big faff for anything over 6 months old. It's up to the consumer to obtain an independent report to show that the charger had an inherent fault at the time it was sold. Then to extract the cost of the charger, and the report, from the retailer.
If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.2
