Selling mums 21plate Toyota Aygo

A nice wee car like that should be easy exhaust, friends, family and workmates first and offer it at say £1k less than the dealers are selling them at.

Selling to people you know is fraught with danger. Not worth it!

Hard disagree, that price is hardly a bargain but also risks relationship issues should there be any problems.

I don't think that is too much of an issue in this case.
It's probably still under warranty. Toyota offer another 12 months warranty up to 10 years/100,000 miles with every dealer service. If it's had a service in the last 12 months or sent in for a service soon at the dealers, that just carries on.
As for valuation, dealers tend to work around a 20% or so mark up of what it costs them, but that's not just buying the car. There will be other overheads they need to factor in. In the case of WBAC, they have those operational costs to consider, so your offers from these types of car buying services will be below that 20% retail mark up.
These Aygos are a pretty popular first car and the fact of it's year, mileage and extendable warranty makes it very attractive to new drivers, so I would be tempted to try a private sale that route first.
Online student forms usually have learner driver sections, a notice up at your local college or even ask around your local driving instructors. That should keep the hungry dealers looking for a quick flip away from the doors.
Then there are places like works notice boards. Our digital notice board always has a few used cars on it. Just make sure you state it's a private sale.

Disagree all you like, just be straight, describe it accurately and help out a bit if anything happens shortly after sale and don't over price it. It is perhaps an issue in the greedy dishonest parts of the country with little to no family and community trust. Where I come from there are only 1 or 2 degrees of separation. Trust and honesty counts for a lot.

This is why having a good knowledge of current dealership advertised prices is important. Prices may have risen in 6 months.

No I know she won't get back what she paid. WBAC is offering 7.5 so that's a good start

Another one here that would suggest you try Motorway.
I've used them twice now and been happy both times with both the price offered and also the service / contact with them. It is very simple and they come to you so that makes things easier.
I also tried WBAC but they were offering much less than I got in the end from Motorway, both times.

Paid £9k from main dealer.
Can get at least £7.5k to sell.
That's pretty good. If she can get that to £8k to sell, then £1k depreciation is amazing over a year.

I got a 1k more than WBAC were offering and used carcow.
