If the final payment is made manually and not by DD, per contract then OP didn't follow the process. Therefore it could be correctly issued default as payment was not made. You would not remotely get to a "district judge", it would be a bank complaint, then ombudsman if needed, a judge would not look kindly on someone taking a provider to court to remove a default without engaging in the proper complaints process.

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

This is speculation as neither you nor I know what the contract might or might not say although I do not discount the possibility that companies would behave is such a stupid manner

A district judge is quite capable of determining that such a term is an unfair contract term in any case

OP has been told that is the process already it is not speculation

Once again, this would never get to any district court/judge, nor would any district judge be prepared to make a contract law judgment on unfair terms, especially when you have not engaged in any complaints process
