    Nicely done - I think that's called 'assertive' 😉

And you are doing the right thing by recording verbatim the conversation.

We may never know whether they were going to sort it, but they'd have to be completely unconscionable cowboys to not do so. How could they not sort it? Do they not care about their reputation?! And, it isn't complex, costly, or time-consuming for them to do.

    Keep us posted 😊

Will do, still got a bit of a feeling this aint going to be over after meeting them and looking at their setup, feel like that might do a rush bodge job on it but going to have to wait until its all done. Then if its bad, gives me more ammo, to then get it assessed and claimed against them for the repair as there is no way i will want them back touching it then.

As I said, no harm at all in having a chat with the LegProt. This is free and has no conditions.

Explain that they agreed to do the repair, but you want to know the steps to take should they fail to do so.

Be pre-armed. In the unlikely event this goes pear-shaped, it is very important you follow the LP's guidelines to the letter, as they are the ones who'll support you in this.

So the story continues got back from work and went to see if they had done it, and this is what i was greeted with

The bit that fell off where they have patched is not even flush, also where they have cut they left a gap and its not even straight. Now i could be jumping too soon here and they may look to level this out and seal this location up when they come back. If not that is a total mess in my opinion, i am considering email them this weekend. I am still awaiting for a call back from legprof.

    Thoughts everyone

That's just pathetic. And I fear they consider it finished - the render on the other side looks to be.

Your wall has a highly attractive scalloped pattern (cough…), and this makes it a doddle to patch in, far easier than if it were smooth. So what the hell is that?!

If they had intended a proper final finish on top, then that patch would be both set back by around (what?) 8mm to allow the finishing coat, and should also be scored to improve adhesion. It's neither. I fear that is 'it' as far as they are concerned, and it's completely unacceptable imo.

I'm trying to assess what went through this grunt's mind, and it almost certainly was, "I really don't give a whatsit."

The loosened section below has just been pushed back into place, and 'secured' by forcing a tiny edge of mortar in along the crack. That is not going to last.

I'm astonished. No pride, no respect, no consideration.

Regardless of whether that section was more vulnerable to begin with, the fact is, they loosened it and caused part to fall away, and the rest to visibly detach. And the fact is also, for them to prise away the remaining loose part, and to make good was a piece of cake, and of very little consequence to them - it was an opportunity to demonstrate the calibre of their company.

They failed. Time for LP. And the threat of an honest review with pics...

I know i am gob smacked as well, when i came back. Even where they have cut its not straight, the more i look at it the more angry i get now lol. I knew when i spoke to them i got a vibe they were wronguns. Spoke to Legal, suggested take pics which i have etc. Email the contractor to say you are not happy with the repair and give them a time limit to rectifiy it. If they dont respond or refuse then take it further. Also need to notify the neighbour with a letter or email as well. Interesting they done have a reviews page setup on facebook. And only 4 reviews on google which were a few years back one was really bad as well
