Ryanair
Hi my husband booked flight tickets last year and forgot about the cut off point so he had to buy the tickets again and therefore £700 was put into the Ryanair wallet. We have bought tickets this year in installments but Ryanair have said we can't use the £700 that we have in the Wallet?? So now my husband has said we've got to use the £700 on flights somewhere but can't afford to go on another holiday abroad. Not sure what to do as it's a lot of money that they have that's ours. Can anyone help? Tried contacting Ryanair and escalating it but they keep closing the case

Could you clarify what you mean by this please?

He missed an email to say he needed to pay the balance

If it's this instalment plan then it does say that uncompleted bookings will be converted to credits:
If the balance is not paid at least 40 days pre-departure, your booking will be automatically cancelled.
The instalment paid will be refunded as credit to the Wallet section of your myRyanair Account.https://help.ryanair.com/hc/en-ie/articles/36521491509777-How-does-Instalment-Payment-work
Why couldn't you use the wallet credits when rebooking?

It may have been because the new booking was an Instalment plan.
You may use your Wallet credit to make any other Ryanair flight booking within 12 months of the issuance date

Yes, I was speculating about whether the £700 in the wallet could have meant that instalments wouldn't actually be needed for the second booking - OP implies that it was a booking for a couple and it would surprise me if many Ryanair flight bookings for two are significantly above that sort of money.

It was a family plus that we used. My husband said that he would cancel our flights that we have now booked to them book again using the wallet and not have installments but they've said we won't get refunded

My point was really about using the wallet credit at the time of making the second booking, but if that won't be refunded if cancelled (with a view to making a third booking partly funded with the wallet credit) then I'm not sure there are any viable options if Ryanair aren't being cooperative.
How long does that wallet credit last for?

I think you need to move your husband away from the responsibility of booking travel.

12 months I think. Just don't know what to do with the £700 at its a lot of money

And they both need to stop using these installment plans with all the restrictions and rules which seem to be difficult to keep a hold of.
Instead pay the same installments into a separate (interest bearing) savings account and when enough to buy a holiday, pay for it in cash. Yes prices may go up closer to the date, but you can always switch destination, there's often last minute deals to go somewhere.
