48 hours in Dublin ~ v awkward timings

Hi All

I'm planning a couple of days in Dublin soon, but just realised that I have very awkward timings:o so looking to make the most of the two days without craming too much in, but having a bit of a 'taster'.

I have a couple of questions about transport from the airport at about 11.30am/12:
  • does the 3 day bus and tram ticket include access to the DART?
  • What bus could I use to get me to the Temple Bar area?
Plan so far: :p

Thurs 2 pm onwards:

Explore the temple bar area - coffee in a bar / Irish music
4.30 / 5pm - GUINNESS Storehouse ( book in advance)
8pm ish dinner - Any suggestions?

Friday - am
Howth on the Dart, explore area, beach & castle
Fish & chips
Pm - return to Dublin: Explore area: walk round trinity college, see Molly Malone’s statue, Any places to see Irish dancing?

Sat am
explore
Run to the airport for 1pm (3.30pm flight)

I'd be glad of any suggestions / must dos or ideas :T :T

Just about all the buses from the airport go to the city centre, and stop at O'Connell Street. You then just walk over the bridge over the river, a couple of minutes and you are at Temple Bar

I wasn't impressed with the Guinness Storehouse tbh.. been twice and dont think its as good as it could have been.. view from the sky bar is nice tho

I'd say a visit to Kilmainham Gaol would be far more interesting - IMO, but then again if you are getting a 3 day bus ticket you might be able to squeeze a visit in somewhere :)

Temple bar is very expensive for eating / drinking, nice tho!

The bus drivers do a running commentary as you go round, very good if you get a witty one.. the dublin bus website should show you all the stops on the tour, will give you a good idea of where you want to jump off.. enjoy!

Not sure it includes the Dart, as this is Irish Rail.. might be wrong tho?

Excuse me for butting in on this thread but we're off to Dublin next month and will have a car. Would anyone like to suggest the best place downtown to park it? Think we'll be taking the City Tour bus around the sights.

the storehouse is pretty poor, i'd agree that Kilmainham would be a better trip.
Dont bother with temple bar, apart from http://www.porterhousebrewco.com/

    As for food http://www.fxbrestaurants.com/
    http://www.theoldstandpub.com/
    O'Neill's
    or luigi malones

As for parking. I really won't attempt to take a car into the city center.
