Mandatory Reconsideration
Hi.
I have just submitted a Mandatory Reconsideration for PIP as I don't think they took into consideration that my mobility had deteriorated dramatically when they looked at my renewal, and I wondered if anyone has had experience of requesting a Reconsideration and how long it will take.
Do they send a text to acknowledge receipt of the request like they do when you send in the renewal form and a text to advise that it has been completed.

You will get a decision letter when it's completed, at the very least, with the new or unchanged decision. I don't recall if they sent me a text to say mine had been received (although they did phone me for more information when it was being considered; I was fortunate to get someone actually doing their job and looking at it properly).

Thanks for your reply @Spoonie_Turtle.
I did do tracking and it looks like they have received it so all good hopefully. How long did you have to wait for a decision?

I think it was about 3 months? But that was back in 2020 so I'm not certain on the timeframe, and it will depend on what kind of backlog they're currently working through.

Just an update:
I have received a text to say they had received my request for a Mandatory Reconsideration, and I should hear within 15 weeks.
