    so can you clarify?

1 You have a dispute with a tradesman

2 You sent him a Letter Before Claim. Presumably he didn't respond?

3 You then issued a court claim against him

4 Did he file an acknowledgement of your claim?

5 Did he file a defence?

6 When you say he agreed to pay as part of the small claims process, what do you mean?

    (a) did he just contact you after you issued the claim and told you he'd pay, or

    (b) did he agree as part of a court ordered mediation process, or

    ( c ) something else?

7 What stage of the court process are you at? (what does your last notice/letter/other comminication from the court say?)

Then you need to take it on to court now to get a judgment given the failure to complete the refund as agreed under mediation.

Just do not have 100% expectations you will get the money out of them.
