British Gas fixed rate and April 1st reductions

I have the fixed rate deal as below;

Fixed Tariff Feb27 v8

Running from 4th of March 2026 until 3rd March 2027.

I chatted with a British Gas advisor today and they said this was not included in the 1st of April reductions.

Is this correct?

Was it just variable tariffs?

Maybe I should not have fixed when I did. But with the Iran war starting it seemed a god idea/

The agent/advisor said ‘fixed rate don’t get the reduction or increase’.

I thought fixed rate were included in the April 1st reductions?

My error!

I was looking at Gas cost and the reduction is so small I missed it 😆

It seems the British Has advisor was incorrect and reductions have been applied.

I had to compare unit rates on last bill (end of March) with those now against account.

I suppose expecting British Gas to have a note on account showing reductions or an advisor that knows their job is my silly mistake 🙄

I have changed to BG longer fix April 2028.

25.69 kw and 44.00 pence standing charge and as usual the option to change if a more competitive rate comes along.

Being kind to them, they could have got confused with the April 1st Ofgem 3 monthly cap change.
