8gb pen drive - "hack" formatted

Good grief! Don't accept a partial refund or bother trying to restore the drive to its original format - the seller either fraudulently misrepresented the item, or supplied faulty goods. Insist on a full refund including the original and return postage.0

Completely agree. I've sold hundreds of things on eBay and purchased quite a few too, mainly from dealers, but fake memory cards, fake USB sticks etc are rife on eBay - it's been well covered in the press and these forums here. Adding on P+P there is no great saving to be made on eBay when compared with the genuine articles via on-line shops, so why risk it? In fact half the time things sell for much more than the do new from online shops, DVDs are a classic example of this, especially at the moment with the sales.
If something looks too good to be true, it is. It's hardly money saving, buying something that is fake, rather than paying a couple of quid more for then genuine article.0 -

(one for 99p!) so lets not all dismiss ebay completely.

I think we should dismiss ebay for these type of purchased, you've been conned as hundreds of others have!
These aren't bargains, they are cheap rubbish being sold by dodgy sellers, hacked items, or quite possibly stolen goods. No different to buying at a market.
Only buy electronics from reputable sellers from eBay, buy compare prices on Amazon and other sites, and you'll find often they aren't bargains at all.
Back to your specific problem. It's fraud, contact eBay and report it, and request a full refund through eBay or PayPal. If you get no response put it in writing to eBay too.
Toolhouse looks like some spam listings site to me, nothing helpful there.0 -
Also be careful with Amazon market place as they can be fake sellers on there too, only buy from Amazon UK directly0
