Is this CCJ - should I pay or ignore ?

Hi all, need urgent advice.

  • Claimant: Euro Car Parks Limited
  • Solicitors: DCB Legal Ltd
  • Amount: £295.84
  • Judgment date: 19 March 2026
  • Entered: in default

Timeline:

  • Received parking charge ~2 years ago
  • Appealed → rejected
  • DCB Legal chased repeatedly, I ignored believing the charge was wrong
  • Never responded to the court claim form
  • Just received the default CCJ via a previous address

Questions:

  1. Is the CCJ defendable given I already lost the appeal stage?
  2. I'm within the one month window to pay and have it removed from the register — is paying the pragmatic move or worth fighting?
  3. Any known weaknesses in Euro Car Parks/DCB Legal claims worth exploring?

Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

Did the court claim form go to a previous address? Is this why you did not respond?

I'm looking for some clarity on this "court claim" notice. To be honest, I'm still not clear on what this actually entails.

Following previous advice from this forum, I had ignored the earlier correspondence while I was in the middle of a house move and managing several other priorities. I'd appreciate your thoughts on a few points:

    • Is this a formal CCJ or a letter generated by a private agency?
    • Would you recommend paying this to resolve the matter?
    • Are there any other suggestions on how to handle this?

Its definitely a default CCJ against you, sent by the CNBC in Northampton, not a private agency

    We rarely recommend paying

If the claim went to an old address, you can either apply for a set aside or negotiate a settlement offer to a contact at DCB LEGAL

    Nope.

I will send you a pm.

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
