Parking tickets sent to wrong address

Hi guys. I've been looking through the newbies thread, along with using the parking fines chatbot, but I am still having issues working out what my next step should be. This is the situation I am currently in:

Back in December, I was about to go over the free parking allowance in an ASDA car park. When I went to pay for longer parking on the Just Park website, I kept receiving error messages (which I have screenshots of). At the time, I tried to ask in-store if there was anything they could do, but the lady at the help desk said no. I also called Just Park's helpline to see if I could backpay the parking, but that was also not possible. I did get an email through from the helpline, which I can use in my defence.

I thought nothing of this until yesterday when I received a DCBL letter, saying that I owe £170, and that my address was wrong on my V5C. The address was in fact wrong and I have updated it this morning.

From reading the newbies thread, I will be emailing DCBL to erase my old address, but I'm not sure what my next step should be regarding Parking Eye, as I haven't received any letters from them about this Parking charge still.

Should I also email them to update my address? Or should I just wait until they have found my new address before getting in contact with them? Unfortunately, I've missed the appeal process for this ticket as I was unaware I received it until now, due to my own fault of not updating my address.

If anyone has any advice for my next step, I would love to hear it. From what I have read, I shouldn't be paying this fine, but I want to make sure I'm following the right steps to make sure of it.

Thanks:)

Email the DPO at PE and DCBL with the correct name and address ( or use the app if available, or an online page if available )

Complain about it to Asda head office customer service department ASAP ( if Asda are the actual landowner. ) plan A in the newbies sticky thread in announcements Complain about it as KEEPER for the time being

Its definitely NOT a fine, just an unpaid outstanding Invoice from a private parking company

    Do not pay

One thing I would do is to check is to check you have not picked up any traffic offences points on your licence.

Otherwise, just let DCB Legal issue the claim once you have ensured they will only use the new address. You want a claim form because they always discontinue!

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks for the tips! When writing this email, do I just use the claim number to link my registration etc?

The reference number, the VRM details and your name and address should suffice, preferably adding redacted proof of the correct address

    Hi guys,

thanks for the tips, just an update for this one. I've been in contact with the landowner who said they don't work with DCBL, and they can't appeal unless it's with ParkingEye (which the original ticket was). I have replied to them clarifying this with a screenshot of the ticket via the ParkingEye website and am waiting on a reply.

In this time however, I have received a final notice letter from DCBL, is my best bet to still ignore these?

Correct, both you and the landowner ignore the the powerless debt collectors letters, like from DCBL

The Claimant is Parking Eye, not the irritating debt collectors

Tell the landowner that nobody is asking them to contact DCB. ParkingEye can cancel any PCN for a client at any stage and you are merely asking for them to request cancellation of PCN ref xxxxxx/xxxxxx in the usual way.

Have you been into the store and asked them to get this stopped? Often the best way, our local Asda now know me as I have been in with several customers/victims and it works nearly every time.
