So I assume it’s fixed the issue if it no longer flicking both the socket and switch have been replaced in past and are not original anyway

An electrician said it could still be switch but explained this was replaced a few years back? But not sure if I need to call someone out if the flicking has stopped?

The flicker is due to the inrush current of the charger causing a momentary drop in mains voltage - some bulbs are more affected than others.

Nothing to worry about, no need to call an electrician.
