Morning GERS and all to follow.
What a beautiful sunrise this morning. The sky was red whilst the sun was rising over the moors. It promises to be a nice day after the horrendous weekend of gales and rain. I might be tempted outside to do a bit of tidying and standing all the pots upright again!
Not a lot going on here today so a day of gentle pottering inside and out is promised. Not much in the way of cooking to do as I have some chicken and various veg left from yesterday to warm up.
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for all our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all, be safe x

Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers.
It's very calm out this morning, almost spooky! Yesterday saw sunshine, hail, sleet, snow and rain with a cold wind. Still cold but dry for now.
The painting is going quite well so far, need to give everything a second coat today, sand down around the window and paint that and do some skirting board behind the cupboard. Seems to take longer to take off hooks, door handles, curtain rails than actual painting. The door curtain had a wash and is hanging over the bannister until I can put it back up, not ready to take it off just yet!
Enjoy your holiday Suffolksue, glad you're feeling better.
I was thinking about your walk yesterday Coxy, hope the weather wasn't too bad.
Fabulous the LO has been at school for so long dp1, hope your parents settle.
Right, I'm going to get dressed and start, will have a shower later. Hope everyone has a good day, take care. XX

Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers x
A calmer day in store here so DSis and I are planning to walk a section of the Great Glen Way with the adult children. DH and BIL are going to eagle valley and will meet us in Fort Augustus later for food.
Yesterday was a mix of glorious sunshine, wind, rain and sleet. However we got out for breakfast and shopping in Fort William (majority of shops open despite Easter Sunday) and a dog walk along the loch.
Planning to take the gondola up Ben Nevis tomorrow as it looks to be a nice day.
I have no idea re: care funding @dp1 but can the social worker/s help navigate with you? Hope Mum settles soon xxGentle hugs to @silver-oldie hope you’re okay after your fall xx
Have a good day all

Morning all
Well yesterday was still very windy, managed to clear away a few leaves that congregate by the back door and then annoy me by floating in the kitchen each time the door is opened! Other than that I did get all the things done on my list plus lots more.
Today looks calmer so might get more done outside. Made the mistake of staying up too late and then was awake early so feeling slightly weary.
Hope everyone had a good weekend and didn’t eat too much chocolate 🍫.
Best wishes to all the poorlies

Might get out into the garden now and plant some seeds now there's a chance I won't get blown away and the seeds won't either!
Hope you all have a good day x

Good morning all from a sunny and still Mehefinland
I know we didn't get the horrendous weather here compared to some of you - just very windy. This morning its sunny, a flat calm although as I type I can see the trees starting to move a little. An unexpected frost too - good job my little seedlings are inside - still have loads to pot on.
Usual humdrum stuff other wise today - a delivery from Waitrose later, just bits and bobs but i couldn't be bothered going to the shop - its a good 5 miles away and it would probably cost me more in fuel than the delivery charge.
Insured the car- my current provider was nearly as cheap as the best on the comparison sites so it wasn't worth the hassle of changing for the sake of £20.
Seeing my laydee friend later - its' going well before you all ask 😉
Hugs and spoons as always. Hope the better spring weather ( if you have it ) helps the poodles get better.

Morning again - the thin watery blue skies are slightly encouraging for the day ahead. Yesterday I succumbed to lighting the wood burner for couple of hours as the wind was from the east and gets in all the stonework.
I treated myself to a fresh-out-of -oven buttery from the cafe in the village to the south of me. The owner used to run the lovely place to the north, she closed it down to open this one next to what was a steamer terminal. So far, she's doing bakery stuff on Sundays. Butteries are so decadent though made a little 'better' by not using lard!
Today is finally the start of the new financial year so I'll be seeking out a new ISA, or maybe funding an old one instead, the excitement of it will last all morning. 😂 I made beetroot soup the other day so will have some with a sandwich for lunch. The soup really needs some gingering up and I'll add some beans to give more protein.
Enjoy your long walk @Coxy11. I've been looking at some photos from my family who are on holiday in QLD, they hiked up a huge rocky thing (not a hill but not a mountain either).EDITED - it's Mount Cooroora. At one point there's a rope / chain installed to help haul yourself up. Madness, even for the amazing view I wouldn't do it. Coming down is always more painful than going up. The shops are always open on Sundays here - and Easter Sunday is no different. Today is a local observance I think.
Great news from @dp1.
Must away, coffee brewing. Have a good Easter Monday all. Hope you all got some tasty eggs.

Morning all. Set to be a nice day here, although Wednesday looks to be the warmest.
We're off on a geocaching walk; might do up to 5 miles, depending on how it goes. DH needs his lunchtime eye drops, so that's one thing holding us back.
Yesterday I did a bit of sorting through the filing cabinet and shredding some paperwork. Most of the stuff in there is DH's though I am allowed a small section. Making Mary Berry's cauliflower soup later on; hope it isn't too bland.
Other than that, it's an ordinary day for us.
Hope all is going as well as it can. The warmer days are on their way.

Bright and sunny here but quite chilly we had a frost this morning so I’m glad my seed babies were in the conservatory. We got the jet washing done yesterday and OH put the canopy up on the gazebo thing in the garden and put the sofa cushion covers back on, so it’s looking nice out there, I need to do some tidying of the pots today and plant some bulbs.
We have loads of lamb leftover from yesterday so that will be dinner tonight in some form, I have a few roasties left and some parsnips, I’m sure I can cobble something together.
Mehefin how exciting with the new laydee 😬
Have good days all and take care xx
