Voyage Prive
Not sure if this is a cry for help or just a warning!
We have a trip to Thailand Package holiday Booked with Voyage Prive, flights with Emirates via Dubai, Due to leave 07th April. I have been contacting this company for three weeks trying to get them to agree to change the flights or cancel the holiday and refund.I have been fobbed off with nonsense that they are investigating and awaiting senior management decision? Chased again last week even adising them of the Bank Holiday period. I have heared nothing from them. The situation have become very stressful and I have now sent them a Cancellation of contract letter stating '
As of today, the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) advises against all but essential travel to the United Arab Emirates (Dubai). Under Regulation 12(7) of the Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018, I am entitled to terminate my contract without paying a termination fee because "unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances" occurring at the destination or its immediate vicinity significantly affect the performance of the package.Given that my transit and carriage of passengers through Dubai is now restricted by official government advice, the performance of this holiday is significantly impacted. Therefore, I am requesting:
- Immediate confirmation of the cancellation of this booking.
- A full refund of all payments made for this package, to be processed within 14 days as required by the Regulations
The Insurance company have advised that there will be no cover in Dubai for medical emergency or even hotel expenses if we got stuck there due to act of war
I honestly cant believe how Voyage Prive have ignored the whole issue and blanked my requests
Looks like we will be escalating this matter to ABTA/ATOL and initiating a Section 75 claim with my credit card provider.

Hi can you tell me if you had any luck with this the same has happened to me no info then after several phone calls received an email that the holiday is going ahead as flights are available no recognition of non essential travel and the fact we can’t go without insurance . I have emailed the letter with regulations. Is it worth contacting Abta or should I just go straight to credit card charge back I stand to loose £7500!
anyone else got any advice Thanks

When is your holiday? Many tour operators will be working in date order for departures.
You could certainly speak to ABTA to seek clarification on options.

Hello, just wondered if you have any update on the above? Have you been told by voyage Privé that your holiday on the 28th April is still going ahead? I’m scheduled to go on the 30th April and still being told it is still going ahead although foreign office advised against all but essential travel, to know anyone in the same situation would really help
