Travel insurance conundrum

Hi sorry if this has been asked before. I’ve been looking for travel insurance and I’m a little confused as to what is covered.
Traveling to Florida in September

Everything booked separately

Flights 2500

Disney and park tickets 2500

Car hire 500

Universal tickets 800

If the flight was cancelled would the insurance cover everything else. Any help or anyone with experience of this would be greatly appreciated

Generally speaking, no the extras wouldn’t be covered - that is consequential loss and doesn’t come as standard.

It does depend on why the flight is cancelled - some policies do travel disruption cover for example for unforeseen events.

You'd need to read the details of exactly what's covered by any specific insurer's policy, rather than making assumptions at a market level.

Note that if the outbound flight is cancelled, the airline is obliged to offer you the choice between an alternative flight (at their cost) or a refund…

@elsien yeah. Just worried about potential flight cancellations due to what’s going on between USA and Iran.

If flights to USA are affected by the issues within the Middle East, there is a lot more for all of us to be concerned with than any holiday to Disney.

It depends on the reason - there is fairly widespread concern about potential shortages in aviation fuel, which would be expected to impact flight schedules.

I think the risk is a shortage of jet fuel, particularly for departures from the UK.

Yes I am wondering whether my group trip to Spain in May might get cancelled due to the jet fuel shortage. I am holding back from booking any more flights for the moment.
