Good morning, thanks Gers.
It's fine and bright here, but it's forecast for strong winds later.
Yesterday was an ok day,I did a bit of shopping at Al*i, not much because I've got an online order from Sains coming later, they had some offers on that I wanted so I did an order.
Not much else happening today, just the usual household stuff.
Hope everyone has a good day, thoughts to the sad and poorly, take care folks.

Morning again. The day is fine, so far! There are yellow weather warnings all over the map for later today and overnight.
The wee lamb joint was lovely, I know it's meant for Sunday but it needed to be cooked yesterday and then I couldn't resist having some. A pile of vegs were tasty too. I'll have the rest today. I'll also make some beetroot soup as they were roasted too.
I started a cold yesterday, out of nowhere it was like a waterfall. Think it's going to be a nasty one. 'Luckily' I had a collection of five bottles of Olbas oil to help make breathing easier - all empty! 😩 I'm going out later to a vintage fair so will detour to the pharmacy to buy more.
Take care everyone. I don't know if Storm Dave will hit the southern part of the country, think it's just aimed at the north, but keep warm anyway. Hugs to all.

Morning folks and thanks GERS. All is calm and bright here - for now. I am dreading the arrival of Dave tonight though I know our friends over the border are forecast to get it worse. Fingers crossed it's less severe than the forecast.
Shopping this morning when DS gets back from the wholesalers. He's stocking up the clubhouse bar in readiness for cricket season starting in two weeks. Snow has been known to fall in the past scuppering the first match of the season!
It's DD's 53rd birthday today but I'm not seeing her as they are at the caravan and celebrating by eating at a curry restaurant in Harrogate. I am being treat to a meal out with DS and his DP tonight, in lieu of my birthday and mother's day when, according to DS, I was commandeered by DD and all her plans for me.. They have booked an old coaching inn just up the valley overlooking the moors which gets good reviews. I haven't been there in years so it will make a nice change. I hope we are back before the storm gets here.
Have a lovely day folks if you can and fingers crossed the storm doesn't cause any damage tonight. Take care all, be safe x

That’s just like my cold Gers ,came out of nowhere on Wednesday
I’m still coughing and spluttering but do begin to feel better in myself
Another quiet day here though the washing machine is going ,it’s bright and sunny with no wind
Think the storm will miss us ,but thinking of those up north
Stay safe all

Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers, hope your cold doesn't last too long.
Busy day yesterday, took DD for her van that now has a shiny new wet belt (whatever that is) and she has a very empty purse! We didn't go to the park as it was absolutely pouring down so went to Sainsbury's instead as she had some T shirts for the little one to exchange. Once home I made soup that will do me for the next few days lunches, even put the washing out for half an hour before more rain.
Enjoy your meal out TA. Happy Birthday to your DD.
Hope you've been paid now Ruby and you hear that O is safe.
No shopping needed today apart from some filler for the hole in the wall where the old thermostat was removed, let's see what a mess I can make of that!
I'll visit the allotment and go for some compost so I can start sowing some seeds, I feel a bit behind this year.
Have a good weekend, take care. XX

Morning all. Dull but dry here so far.
We went out for a geocaching walk yesterday and discussed the fact the DH has been told not to do vigorous exercise for another 3 weeks. The only thing we could think of to keep his fitness levels up was walking, as he doesn't swim, so I hope the weather's in our favour for the next few weeks.
Today we are meeting the family at a lambing farm, so that should be good. I'm putting the Boat Race on to record so we can then skip the boring bits and just watch the action.
Found a tub of veggie curry in the freezer so will be having that tonight and have bought duck for tomorrow. M&S do a very nice one that doesn't need much cooking; just finishing off in the oven really.
Better get a move on. Hope everyone is getting on ok and has a good Saturday.

Morning all, thanks Gers.
It's been raining here, I think we'll be on the fringes of Storm Dave later.
The salmon got compliments last night- I cooked it in the Remoska with garlic, honey and a bit of sweet chilli sauce, with peppers and mini tomatoes popped in as well. Not sure on tonight, my fresh stuff from the earlier delivery has been used up apart from a chicken which I was planning on using tomorrow, might have to cook that as I have a lamb joint in the freezer. Might confuse the menfolk as we tend to have stuff like curry or Italian on a Sat. Mind you they already think it's Sunday 😀
Nothing much else happening so will wish you a good day.

Doesn't feel quite as cold out there today but still a bit chilly inside. Bought a small heater yesterday and it heated the room up quite well, especially as our living room is open plan, so won't freeze to death! Fed up with having to keep putting the kettle on as we've got no hot water coming out of the taps though!
Just decorated some cupcakes with buttercream and mini eggs. Will enjoy those later. Nothing else planned today.
Hope those in the eye of the storm stay safe xx

Morning all
It’s been raining overnight but meant to brighten up later on, I am going to start the jet washing today I will probably do half today and then the other half tomorrow, I also have some seeds to sew and a houseplant to pot on.
I’ve got some chicken pieces out for dinner I think I might do creamy garlic chicken with some pasta, we had some salmon last night which was delicious.
OH also has the lurgy it seems to be a chest infection he does sound bad, I just hope dd and I don’t get it. Hugs to anyone else who is suffering.
Still no pay 🙄 and nothing from safeguarding it will probably be next week now before I hear anything. I did apply for five jobs yesterday so that’s something.
Have good days all and take care xx
