Trousers with soft knee pads that don't have a 10+ pockets?

I'm trying to find a simple pair of durable trousers that have either built in soft squishy foam padding arounds the knee cap and just below the knee cap, but every pair I look at are like full scale tradesman cargo work trousers that have like 10 pockets.

I just want a basic pair of trousers with the normal 2 pockets but just with padded knees, or insert slots for my own pads.

that's 8 pockets… I know I said 10+ but 8 is too many.

Pockets add weight and layers which I don't want.

Pockets add weight and layers which I don't want.

Interesting:

• 2 x Front Hip - same as any trousers
• 1 x Free Swing Thigh, - Hammer loop? Weight is in the hammer not the loop
• 1 x Phone - Very limited potential extra weight. Where would you keep your phone?
• 2 x Back - same as any jeans.
• 2 x Knee Pad Pockets - Necessary for the pads. How heavy are the pads?

Layers are required to provide the void for the pads to slot into but hey a closed mind is a closed mind.

The OP could do that with the knee pads under the trousers, which will work if they're suitably loose.
