Morning @ScarletRibbons Morning all
Off out to do some shopping this morning. DH is going down to our DSs to service his car as he lent his ramps to him and they are still there. I'm going with him now and will get a shower while there as we have no hot water. Will have a play with the dogs and catch up with any gossip with his partner!
Hope to get home in time for a delivery of a halogen heater we've bought to warm the house up when needed. Apart from that nothing else going on.
Have a good day all xx

Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet.
It's looking very miserable out there today with a weather warning for tomorrow, typical for a holiday weekend!
Sorry your op was cancelled Remmie, hope you get another date soon.
Goodness Chrisca, that's not good news at all, hope you can get it all fixed quickly.
First day of the holidays and I was awake at 5am! I'm taking DD to collect her van later, it was having some work done and had to be left at the garage. If the weather is ok we'll take the little one to the park whilst out. Also going to call at the SM for some more cheap veg to make soup.
Take care. XX

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. After yesterday's lovely sunny day this morning is a let down. The usual drabness and it looks damp as though we had rain through the night.
No plans other than the Friday Tidy. Quick dust and vac up and down. The kitchen and bathroom got done yesterday.
REMMIE cancelling your op at such short notice, after you had psyched yourself up, was par for the course these days. It happens far too often doesn't it.
CHRISCA when I had to have a new boiler put in a few years back I had to have new pipes done too. Mine ran from the meter on the front wall all the way under the house to the boiler in the kitchen at the back. A good job the plumber is a small slight man as there isn't a lot of room under there! The job ended up taking three and a half days! Fortunately I had taken myself off to the caravan out of the way!
CAMELOT I hope you are soon feeling better, your lurgy seems to be dragging on.
COXY you take care up there in the Highlands, the forecast is sounding dire.
YL I hope there is good news from your DS's interviews.
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all, be safe xx

Morning everyone, thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons. @Chrisca50 - how lovely to have a shower, enjoy it. @camelot1001 - it's typical for school holidays!
It's miserable here too though the storm warning for Saturday and Sunday is not a good outlook. I've checked my candles, matches, wood store and freezer, I should manage if the power cuts again. The storm is said to be a wind event so trees may fall. The council has been doing a vast amount of tree culling from roadside verges this spring, a lot of dead and weak wood along with low overhanging branches so perhaps no road will get blocked.
After my lovely two days in Glasgow I'm back to ordinary life. I did some vegetable shopping there and also picked up a YS lamb joint. The drive home was so peaceful and calm. The sun was out making the landscape spectacular. It won't be that over the weekend. The family are having a fab time in the wilds of QLD. My youngest great- nibbling turned six the other day so there was a birthday party. She looked so grown up in a beautiful red frock.
I hope that everyone has a good Good Friday. Hugs all round.

Morning again. It's not a bad morning here, but the forecast is not good, we are going to get very strong winds apparently.
Sorry to hear that your op has been cancelled Remmie.
Chrisca, I hope that your boiler problems get sorted soon, you must be fed up.
Ruby, I've been thinking about that poor man, totally reliant on his awful mother. I do hope that he can be removed to a safe place very soon. Also hoping that you get another job soon.
Glad that you enjoyed your meal and meet up with friends Gers, it's always nice isn't it.
I think I'll go on a cheap veg hunt this morning, it seems to have become a "thing" now.
Not much planned for today, but there's always household jobs.
Hope everyone has a good day, thoughts to anyone who is sad or poorly.
Take care folks.

Morning all
Miserable day here too I was going to jet wash the patio and get it ready for summer but that will have to wait, tomorrow is meant to be better.
I heard nothing from the safeguarding team yesterday so I have no idea how it went, I won’t hear anything till next week now and she still hasn’t paid me 🙄
In Mr T the other day I got a leg of lamb, an Irish beef joint and a side of salmon half price, I need to cut the salmon up today and freeze it but I will keep some out for a salmon fried rice for tonight, we will have the lamb Sunday.
I need to apply for a few jobs I have seen today, I’ve had a lady contact me about care for her daughter but it doesn’t start till July so I need to find something in the mean time.
Remmie sorry that your op was cancelled 😞
YL good luck to your son with his interviews xx
Have good days all and take care xx

Good morning everybody, thanks Scarlet. A dull day here too.Sorry about your op Remmie, and hope Chrisca you can soon shower at home.
Only me up at the moment, eaten my breakfast and on with my 1st coffee of the day. I'm not sure what's happening today really, whether the DGc will come as DGD mentioned me shortening a skirt for her. We'll watch football on tv later.
I made some cauliflower soup yesterday for my lunch today, the menfolk were complaining about the smell 😁I got some cheapo veg, it's stored outside in a box for now, onions, carrots ,parsnips & spuds.
Yesterdays visit to a care home to visit eldest cousin went ok. Nearest cuz picked me up The staff we did meet seemed lovely. I took a few bits in a toilet bag, and she took some nice donated clothes from a friend which we folded & put in drawers. She didn't seem to have eaten much of her lunch, says she's just not hungry. Conversation was a bit stilted at first, she can't remember the fall, and her body is still healing from the breaks, but we talked about our younger family memories so it was ok.
Salmon for tea later. It looks like it's just started drizzling, Ldog won't be pleased!
Hope you all have a nice Good Friday and Easter.

Good morning
Dry out but with a few gusts of wind, nothing like we're expecting tomorrow.
DH took me out yesterday to try and get me over my disappointment at my surgery being cancelled. At least we hadn't left for the clinic, that would have been worse as we would have been stuck on the motorway. Anyway, I took my friends advice and chilled out with a g&t (or two) last night. At least we have a lovely clean house, for now.
Salmon for us tonight, with new potatoes and asparagus, my favourite.
Ruby, hope you get paid soon, good luck with the job hunt.
Have a good day all, take care.

@remmie - so sorry about your op being cancelled, it's always such a disappointment when you're mentally geared up for it. G&T's are good at any time!
The day is clearing up though still cold. I've prepped the wee lamb joint and got the beetroot ready so that they can all go in the oven at the same time. When in the big city I bought a Savoy cabbage which is difficult to get here. Also bought a lovely cauliflower, the ones in the Co-op were rather small and shrivelled. Still looking for asparagus, maybe tomorrow.
